Carrie Underwood has been announced as the first artist set to perform at Nashville's LP Field during this year's CMA Music Festival, taking place June 10-13. The four-day event features hundreds of artists and performances and allows fans to get up close and personal to many of their favorite country stars. And one special fan of Carrie's got word of the superstar's upcoming appearance even before the general public found out!

On the CMA Music Fest website, a letter was posted from 15-year-old Riley Ahlstrand of Brentwood, Tenn., and it was brought to the attention of WKRN, the local ABC television affiliate. Riley is a huge fan of Carrie's, and all she wanted was for the superstar to perform at the event. It seems she got her wish. She writes, "My dream is to meet Carrie Underwood, and the CMA Music Festival is my absolute favorite thing.""I am so excited," Riley continues. "But the reason I am contacting you is because I really, really, really want Carrie Underwood to be there this year. Last year she was only there to sign autographs, but the line was so long that I didn't get to meet her ... I told all my friends and family about the amazing time I had last year. I invited 13 people to come, and they are all coming because of how much I loved it!"

So, while Riley was being interviewed by the TV affiliate, the reporter's phone rang and it was Carrie to tell Riley that she would be performing at the event, and she was the first to know.

"I always look forward to the excitement of CMA Music Festival," said Carrie after the call. "It's fans like Riley that make the week so much fun."

A nearly speechless Riley was in awe. "This is the best thing that has ever happened," she says, with tears still streaming down her face. "I couldn't have dreamed [of] anything cooler than this!" Riley also wants to work at the Festival some day -- sounds like she could have a job waiting for her.

The next announcement of talent is set to take place Feb. 18. Tickets for the CMA Music Festival are on sale now. Riley will no doubt be tuning in (along with millions of others!) when Carrie performs at the Super Bowl this weekend.
