Bucky Covington has signed with Entertainment One Music Group, joining the label's diverse roster as its premier country artist. The 'A Different World' singer is currently in the studio working on his sophomore album, the follow-up to his 2007 self-titled debut.

"After getting to know everyone at eOne, they are a perfect fit for me," says the North Carolina native. "Being a part of eOne is such a great opportunity, and I truly believe it will be a winning combination. I love these guys!"

Bucky first gained attention as a contestant on 'American Idol' before scoring three Top 10 singles with Lyric Street Records. The Disney subsidiary company closed its doors in 2010, forcing Bucky and his label mates to find new creative homes.

Of his most recent artist signing, Entertainment One Nashville President Mike Olsen shares, "We are very excited to welcome Bucky to our Entertainment One Film, TV and Music family. We are already having great success this year at eOne and adding Bucky to our roster is a wonderful indicator for 2012 and beyond."

Bucky's self-titled debut topped the country albums chart in its first week of release, giving the singer the honor of being the best-selling new artist that year. The collection spawned the Top 10 singles, 'A Different World,' 'It's Good to Be Us' and 'I'll Walk.' He is expected to return with the new project's first radio single later this year, with the full album slated for a 2012 release.
