Brothers Osborne are the 2019 recipients of the ASCAP Vanguard Award. The duo will receive the honor, which is presented to "ASCAP members whose innovative work is helping to shape the future of music," according to a press release, at the 57th annual ASCAP Country Music Awards, set for Nov. 11 in Nashville. “John and TJ Osborne successfully honor the past and the future with their passionate country rock sound,” ASCAP President Paul Williams says in a statement. “Together with John’s masterful guitar picking and TJ’s pitch-perfect baritone, they offer a fresh take on the modern country duo." -- AM

Segments of Dolly Parton's Grand Ole Opry 50th anniversary celebration will air as an NBC television special later this year. Dolly Parton: 50 Years at the Grand Ole Opry will feature both interviews with and performances from the country icon and some of her famous friends. "Together we hope to entertain a broader audience on what the Grand Ole Opry is and what it means to me," says Parton, who will celebrate her 50th anniversary as an Opry member on Saturday (Oct. 12). "We have some special treats, surprises and great performances by some very talented artists, and I’m looking so forward to sharing it with you.” Dolly Parton: 50 Years at the Grand Ole Opry will air on NBC on Nov. 26 at 9PM. -- AS

In support of the International Day of the Girl (Oct. 11), Kacey Musgraves has teamed up with the humanitarian organization CARE and Care Bears to design a unique Care Bear doll. As Musgraves fans might expect, the bright green bear is decked out with a rainbow, butterflies and plenty of sparkle, and is intended to serve as a reminder to protect the earth. The dolls are currently being auctioned off via eBay through Oct. 19, and proceeds will benefit CARE's work in humanitarian relief across the world. -- AM

When Extreme Makeover: Home Edition makes its comeback on HGTV in 2020, LeAnn Rimes will appear as a special guest on the show. According to PopCulture.com, the country star describes herself as an "avid fan" of the original Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, and will appear alongside new host Jesse Tyler Ferguson as the series helps deserving families across the country with major home renovations.
