Brooks & Dunn Humbled by Televised Tribute

Brooks and Dunn This evening (April 19), Brooks & Dunn will be honored in the all-star tribute to the duo as a final farewell as they close the chapter of the last 20 years of making music together. While talking with GAC on the orange carpet pre-show for the 45th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards Sunday night (April 18), Kix Brooks said that the tribute has them quite humbled.

"I think it's about the coolest thing that's ever happened to us," Kix says. "Everybody's tired when you get done with [the ACM's]. You want to get back home, get back on the road and get some rest. To stay over an extra day is big enough, but to think they're staying over to do music that we've done for the last 20 years ... that's the ultimate compliment. It really is."

The show will air May 23 on CBS and includes performances by Keith Urban, Faith Hill, Rascal Flatts, George Strait, Kenny Chesney, Lady Antebellum, Carrie Underwood, Jason Aldean, Taylor Swift, Tim McGraw, Reba McEntire, Darius Rucker, Brad Paisley and Sugarland.
