If you've attended one of Brantley Gilbert's Hell on Wheels tour stops, you've likely left with an autograph from tour opener Brian Davis, whether you knew who he was before the show or not. The singer-songwriter, who has released numerous albums independently, has been getting a huge response from fans on this trek, which also includes Kip Moore.

"That's one thing that has floored me. Being out here, with guys like Kip Moore and, of course, Brantley, we're the first of three," Brian tells The Boot. "We're the guys that have the least amount of exposure. We're honored, and I always make this announcement right before our last song, I say, 'We're so thankful you came out tonight ... so when Brantley closes the show tonight, I'm going to take my happy a-- back there to the signing table and I'm going to stay here until you guys tell me I have to go home.'"

Brian is finding that isn't such a short amount of time. "We've signed constantly since this tour has started for two-and-a-half, three hours a night," the North Carolina native reports. (See the evidence in the video player below.) "I'm blown away by the line, and by how many people who didn't know who we were when they sat down in their seat are in it. We've started getting all these tweets that say, 'I went to the Independence, Mo., show -- had no idea who you were -- and then you come out and do your show: I'm a fan for life now.' That stuff is massive to us. We're just excited to be a part of this whole scenario."

Brian, who isn't signed to a major record label, credits watching his father and grandfather play local honky tonks with teaching him how to win over a crowd. "Being in those honky tonks early on showed me that you had to complete with the guy trying to order a beer or the guy trying to talk to a girl," he explains. "It was one of those deals, 'Let's figure out how to be more entertaining than all that stuff.' Now we've brought that to a much larger stage, thanks to my buddy Brantley Gilbert."

Brian's next Hell on Wheels date is April 13 in Auburn, Ala., and he's got several solo gigs on the books, as well. See his tour schedule here.
