Brantley Gilbert has a new piece of hardware to add to his trophy case. The singer won Favorite Album -- Country at the 2014 American Music Awards.

Gilbert was nominated for his 'Just As I Am' album, his third studio release. The award is his first AMA.

"Whoa. I wasn't expecting this," said a shocked-sounding Gilbert as he accepted the award. "It was just an honor to be considered for this award and be in the same category as two people that I really look up to and really respect in the business."

Gilbert defeated Garth Brooks and Eric Church to take home the award.

Earlier in the evening, the 'More Than Miles' singer helped present the award for Favorite Alternative Rock Artist.
