Blake Shelton made an appearance on 'The Tonight Show' with Jay Leno on Wednesday night (Nov. 20), and the country superstar's trademark sense of humor was in full force.

The 'Sure Be Cool if You Did' singer told the talk show host about his recent CMA wins, revealing that in addition to his two, he counts wife Miranda Lambert's award as his, too, since it went home with him.

He also addressed 'Today' show host's Hoda Kotba's alleged crush on him, and talked about Cher and his father, but perhaps the funniest part of the segment was when he told Leno about why he didn't attend Kelly Clarkson's recent wedding to his manager, Brandon Blackstock, as seen in the clip above.

Shelton -- who says he was ordained in a somewhat questionable way via the internet -- was slated to officiate the nuptials, but when the date got leaked, the couple decided to scrap their formal plans and elope instead. "And I got to do the really great thing, which is avoid having to go through a wedding," Shelton quipped, adding, "I would rather go to the dentist."

On a more serious note, Shelton revealed that Lambert is near to finishing her next album, for which she was at a photo shoot while he was on with Leno. "We are together!" he added, in reference to the numerous tabloid rumors about their marriage. "Despite what you read."
