Love Angry Birds? Love Blake Shelton? You're in luck: The country superstar will be voicing a character in an upcoming movie based on the smartphone game.

The Angry Birds Movie is a combined effort between Sony Pictures and Rovio Entertainment, the developer of Angry Birds. In the game itself, players sling birds at pigs, and the animated film will act as "the origin story for how that conflict came to exist between birds and little green piggies," according to producer John Cohen.

Shelton will voice the character of Earl, one of those "little green piggies," and he also penned a song for the movie -- which was tricker than it might sound.

"I can write things about myself and my life," Shelton reflects. "But I don’t have a whole lot of experience being shot out of a slingshot at pigs.”

However, the singer and The Voice coach does happen to be a fan of the Angry Birds game.

“I wish I had a dollar for every minute I lost playing that freaking game, you know?” he adds. “Well, I guess I do now.”

Of voicing Earl, Shelton says, "They kept saying, ‘More country!’ I felt like I was doing a voice-over for Dukes of Hazzard.”

The Angry Birds Movie is scheduled to hit theaters on May 20. The animated film will also feature the voices of Jason Sudeikis, Maya Rudolph, Peter Dinklage, Josh Gad, Danny McBride and more.

Unfortunately, Shelton -- who recently celebrated his 21st No. 1 song with "Gonna" -- won't have a whole lot of extra time to play Angry Birds this year: He's going to be very, with a tour already scheduled and a brand-new album in the works.
