Blake Shelton Reveals Secrets for Lasting Marriage

Blake Shelton graces the cover of Redbook's February issue, in which he reveals his secret to being a good husband, what he finds sexiest about his wife, Miranda Lambert, and how she's "tamed" him.

"You've got to be confident and a little bit of a pushover," Blake explains to the magazine (quote via US Weekly). "Obviously, you've got to be a loyal person. I'm never going to listen to someone trash my wife. I think you have to be willing to take a bullet for somebody if you're going to stand up there, take your vows, and be married to them for the rest of your life."

Although, it probably doesn't hurt to also be attracted to your spouse. "A woman who is not insecure gets me," Blake says in a separate interview with Cosmopolitan. "I understand it's gotta be tough to be a girl. But a woman who doesn't give a crap if I notice her? That drives me crazy. That's something Miranda has."

Since their May nuptials, Blake admits that he's settled down a bit. "I think she has probably tamed me a bit," Blake tells Redbook. "Or maybe it's because I'm 35, and you start to calm down anyway. But I think a lot of it has to do with feeling settled and lucky to have ended up with the person I really wanted to be with. To me, that's being tamed in the best possible way."

That being said, the Oklahoma native recognizes that you can't change your significant other in a healthy relationship. "We accept and understand each other," he says. "Miranda would never want to tame me into being somebody I'm not, and I would never try to do that to her."

Next up for the couple, they're headed to the Super Bowl, where they'll perform 'America the Beautiful' together. The game takes place Feb. 5 in Indianapolis. Immediately following the Super Bowl, the second season of 'The Voice,' featuring Blake as one of the superstar coaches, will premiere on NBC.
