Both Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert have stayed pretty quiet about the circumstances surrounding their divorce, but Shelton spent a bit of time during a recent appearance on the CMT Hot 20 Countdown discussing how he's doing since the split.

“I’m good, I’m good," Shelton says, before getting in a jab at the tabloids. "I'm not in rehab, I'm not -- I have to pick up a magazine every now and then to find out about my alter ego, I guess.

"I’m in a good place. I wasn’t, but I am now," he adds. "It’s amazing how quickly life can turn around for you. I’ve had some pretty cool things in recent times that have happened, and I’m loving it."

Shelton also notes that his recent weight loss, which he has previously joked is a result of his "divorce diet," is due in part to a new, stress-relieving habit: mowing his lawn.

"I would like to sit here and tell you that I've been exercising, but I haven't been," the country star explains. "I've been push mowing my lawn ... One day, in the middle of process and chaos with my personal life, I walked out [of my house], and I was just thinking, 'What's going on in my life? ... What the hell is going on with my yard?!'"

Shelton and Lambert announced their divorce in late July, noting at the time in a joint statement, "This is not the future we envisioned. And it is with heavy hearts that we move forward separately."

“In Oklahoma, it happens so fast. Like, Miranda and I didn’t have any kids, and we had a pre-nuptial agreement, whatever we had,” Shelton explains. “Once we filed for divorce, it was over in, like, I think it was like a nine- or 10-day waiting period until it’s over.”

He is adamant, however, that the two are remaining friends.

“Our whole thing was, we are going to be cool about this, it is what it is,” Shelton says. “We’re buddies.”
