Blake Shelton may have lost a few followers on Twitter due to some of his controversial tweets, but one tweet earned him the lifelong affection of Harlie Bryant, a 6-year-old girl stricken with brain cancer. After the "Over You" singer learned of the child's illness and the organization Hope for Harlie, which was created by songwriter Justin Tierney to help the family cover her medical bills, he quickly shared the info with all 1,810,204 of his followers.

"Doubled our supporters in less than 24 hrs thanks to @blakeshelton!" @HopeforHarlie tweeted. "Harlie can't wait to meet you! She loves singing Hillbilly Bone with Dad!"

Harlie, who has a softball-sized tumor in her brain, names Blake as her all-time favorite singer, so he's also stepping in to help make one of her dreams come true. The Oklahoma native will headline the Big O Music Fest on August 18 in Owensboro, Ky., where he has promised he will meet Harlie and sing a song just for her.

"I'm really excited," Harlie said, adding that her favorite song is "Honey Bee." For her parents, it's nice to see their daughter focused on something besides her illness.

"She was ecstatic," her mother Lisa recalled. "She was jumping up and down and she was like, 'What song is he gonna sing me?' and I was like, 'I don't know, you have to ask him -- whatever song.'"
