Blake Shelton is one-half of one of today's most recognizable celebrity couples, and he admits that the fame can get in the way. The husband of multi-platinum-selling singer Miranda Lambert acknowledges they can't appear in public as much these days -- but adds that it's a price he is more than willing to pay.

"We definitely don't go to places like we used to," he admits [quote via Country Weekly]. "It can be a pain sometimes and you have to have an assistant do things for you. But if that's the worst thing that ever happens, then that's awesome. Outside of that, this is what I moved to town for. It is awesome and it's mind-boggling to me. I know how rare it is to be in this position where I'm at now. So, it's not a problem."

The coach on NBC-TV's 'The Voice' is about to see his star status go up another notch, when he performs the theme song for the remake of the classic film, 'Footloose,' which hits theaters next month. The tune, originally recorded by '80s icon Kenny Loggins, has received mixed reviews from his fans.

"I expected it to be polarizing when I signed up for it," acknowledges the Oklahoma native. "Some say it's the worst thing they've ever heard in their lives and others say, 'I really like this version.' Nobody says, 'Well, it's OK.' I've never seen anything more polarizing, but I think that's what I've become good at."

His fans may be divided on his version of 'Footloose,' but they all seem to agree his latest single, 'God Gave Me You,' is a hit. The tune, which is the second single from his No. 1 album, 'Red River Blue,' soared to the Top 10, and landed in the Top 40 on the pop charts as well. But the five-time CMA Award nominee, who earned his first nod this year for the coveted Entertainer of the Year honor, insists he was only thinking of his new bride when he decided to add the song to his album.

"'God Gave Me You' is an important song for me for this record," Blake tells The Boot. "I had flown into Dallas and got into my truck and was driving back to Oklahoma ... It's no secret, Miranda and I have had our ups and downs over the years and this was definitely at a low point at our relationship. But I heard that song come on the radio -- for whatever reason I was flipping through stations and landed on a contemporary Christian station, and that song came on and I almost had to pull the truck over. It was one of those moments for me where I felt like I was hearing that song at that moment for a reason."

Blake is continuing his role as the opening act on Brad Paisley's H2O II: Wetter & Wilder tour, as well as performing several solo dates. The singer will embark on a headlining tour in support of the release later this year, with complete details on the trek to come next week. Keep track of his schedule here.
