Barbara Mandrell Breaks Steel Barrier

The 'Sweetheart of the Steel' is now finally a member of the Steel Guitar Hall of Fame. Last week, Barbara Mandrell became the first woman ever inducted into the prestigious hall, during a convention in St. Louis, Mo.

Barbara started reading music before she could even read words! The future country superstar started playing steel guitar as a young child and was a multi-instrumentalist by age 10.

This was Barbara's second hall of fame induction this year. She was welcomed into the Country Music Hall of Fame back in May.
