‘Austin City Limits’ Video Exclusive: the Mavericks & All-Star Tribute to Levon Helm
The iconic "Austin City Limits" show left the Lonestar state back in September, bound for Nashville's annual Americana Music Festival. The program's traveling cameras captured several spine-tingling performances inside Music City's famed Ryman Auditorium, which we'll see on this Saturday's (Nov. 10) episode of "Austin City Limits" on PBS. Jones, Carolina Chocolate Drops, Hayes Carll with Cary Ann Hearst, Guy Clark, Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit, John Hiatt, Kasey Chambers & Shane Nicholson, Tom T. Hall with Lee Ann Womack and Peter Cooper, The Mavericks, Richard Thompson, Jim Lauderdale, Buddy Miller and an all-star finale tribute to Levon Helm.
"Austin City Limits" shares exclusively with The Boot two incredible performances from the new episode. Watch below as Alabama Shakes' lead singer Brittany Howard, Emmylou Harris, John Hiatt and Bonnie Raitt sing one of Levon Helm's most beloved songs, "The Weight," accompanied by Helm's daughter, Amy Helm, and former bandmate Teresa Williams. Their incredible collaboration is followed by one of the Mavericks' first live television performances since reuniting.
