Ashley Monroe has released the video for her latest single, "On to Something Good." The song is the debut single from her upcoming, still-untitled new album.

Monroe co-wrote the song with Luke Laird and Barry Dean. The video, directed by Rachel McDonald, shows Monroe cruising around her current hometown of Nashville, purchasing stacks of LPs and bowling at the trendy Pinewood Social restaurant, while singing lines like, "Lost and found / I’m better dancing when I don’t look down / Hard times roll up, but they don’t hang around / I feel like I’m on to something good."

"I like that the song is hopeful, and it's saying, ‘Hey, we've all been there,'" Monroe says. "'We all know what it's like to be down and out, but there's hope if you keep on going. And if you do, you will be on to something good.'"

Monroe's upcoming new set of tunes will be the follow-up to her critically acclaimed Like a Rose, which was produced by Vince Gill and Justin Niebank. The two returned to produce the upcoming album, with Monroe taking co-producer credits for this project as well. The singer also co-wrote every song on the record, although she says that writing the happier songs was more of a struggle for her.

“It’s so hard for me to write a positive song, but there are so many that I love that actually have some meat and substance to them,” Monroe says. “I really wanted to challenge myself [for my new single]. I tried to think of some Sheryl Crow songs I love that are uptempo and make you feel good. I love those songs, I've just never written one.”

Monroe's will spend much of her summer on the road, serving as the opening act for Little Big Town on their 2015 Pain Killer Tour, before hitting the road with Miranda Lambert on her all-female Roadside Bars and Pink Guitars Tour. See a list of all of Monroe's upcoming shows on her website.
