Pistol Annies' member Ashley Monroe is prepping her latest solo album. The Tennessee native -- who previously released two solo singles: "Satisfied" and "I Don't Want to" (a duet with Ronnie Dunn) -- has revealed the lyric video for "Like a Rose," the title track from her upcoming project on Warner Music Nashville. (Watch below.)

The new song, which she co-wrote with Jon Randall and Guy Clark, was the product of Ashley's first writing session with the latter tunesmith. After hearing several pitches from the young songstress, Guy asked to tell him her story. She obliged, and the heartbreaking, yet triumphant tale is chronicled in the lyrics.

If you listen closely, you'll also hear Vince Gill singing back up on "Like a Rose." The country icon not only lent his vocal talents to the album, but also his creative muscles, co-producing with Justin Niebank.

Given Ashley's history, the full album -- expected in stores sometime next year -- will likely include several unexpected, but praiseworthy moments, in addition to some familiar guest vocals. However, it does not mean that her days as Hippie Annie are over. The Pistol Annies continue to work and tour together, in addition to working on their own projects.

Ashley also has a wedding to plan. She said yes to Chicago White Sox pitcher John Danks' proposal back in September.
