Angaleena Presley Is Expecting!
Angaleena Presley is pregnant, and she enlisted her Pistol Annies bandmates Miranda Lambert and Ashley Monroe to help share the exciting news. The trio revealed that Presley's expecting during Lambert and Little Big Town's Bandwagon Tour stop in Dallas, Texas, on Saturday night (Aug. 11).
Krystal Montez from Kiss Country 93.7 in Shreveport, La., reports that Monroe and Presley joined Lambert onstage during her set. As she was introducing her bandmates, Lambert told the crowd they "wanted to share some big news with you," in honor of it being a "hometown show" (Lambert is from Lindale, Texas, and Monroe and Presley are both married to Texans).
"See, one of us is drinking, and one of us is smoking, and one of us is not taking her pill," Lambert said, riffing on the chorus of the trio's song "Takin' Pills" as Presley used her hands to accentuate her baby bump. "Holler Annie's havin' a baby, everybody!"
Presley and her husband, Jordan Powell, have been married since 2012; the two wed in a private ceremony in Jackson Hole, Wyo., after getting engaged in 2011. Powell used to be Lambert's tour manager.
“When I turned 40, my husband and I decided to put the decision to have a baby in the hands of fate. A year and a half after we ‘stopped being careful,’ we were blessed with two pink lines," Presley says in a press release. "To say the least, we were both shocked and overjoyed. As an outspoken, female artist, I feel like this is just one more thing that I’m meant to take on in this life. I’m ready to rock being an older mom."
Presley is due in January; this baby will be Presley and Powell's first child together. Presley also has one son, Jed, from a previous marriage; he is 11 years old.
The Pistol Annies are preparing to release a new album -- they finished recording the project recently, Presley told The Boot in July -- and have popped up on the road with Lambert throughout 2018. Lambert and LBT's Bandwagon Tour is scheduled to run through the end of August.
