Chuck Wicks, ‘America’s Morning Show’ Co-Hosts Involved in Serious Car Accident
Chuck Wicks and his America's Morning Show co-hosts Ty Bentli, Kelly Ford and producer Glenn Johnson were involved in a serious car accident on Monday (Feb. 27), while on their way to Mardi Gras in New Orleans, La.
According to a statement from Nashville's Nash FM 103.3, the morning show's home station, Wicks, Bentli, Ford and Johnson were headed from Columbus, Miss., where they were visiting an affiliate station, to New Orleans, where they were scheduled to serve as grand marshals in a Mardi Gras parade, when the accident occurred. While driving through a major rainstorm, the vehicle the four radio personalities were in hit a puddle and hydroplaned; the vehicle rolled over twice and came to a stop in a ditch.
Following the crash, Wicks, Bentli, Ford and Johnson were transported via ambulance to a Hattiesburg, Miss., hospital. Bentli, Ford and Johnson were all treated and released, but Wicks was held overnight "for some additional observation," Nash FM's statement explains.
"They’re sore for the ordeal, but by all reports so far, they are fortunately going to be okay," the statement continues. "Keep them all in your thoughts and prayers, and we’ll update you with any developments."
The radio prep service Jockline was first to report about the AMS crew's accident.
Wicks released his sophomore album, Turning Point, in 2016. Prior to that, he released his debut full-length album in 2008 and an EP in 2013. Wicks began his run on America's Morning Show in 2014; Ford and Johnson joined the show in 2015, while Bentli came on board in September of 2016..
