Alan Jackson Extends Keepin’ It Country Tour With 2016 Dates
Alan Jackson spent much of 2015 out on the road, on his 25th anniversary Keepin' It Country Tour, and he's planning to spend 2016 the same way. The country legend has extended his trek into this year, with a few dates already announced and many more on the way.
Jackson will begin his 2016 shows on Feb. 22, at the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo in Texas. A smattering of dates run through the spring, summer and fall, and more will be added throughout the year. Lauren Alaina will be joining Jackson on the road as his special guest.
Jackson signed his first recording contract, with Arista Nashville, in June of 1989 and released his first studio album in 1990. The artist released his 15th studio album, Angels and Alcohol, in July of 2015, and isn't planning to slow down anytime soon.
“I don’t know what I’d retire from — I don’t work much now,” Jackson says. Still, he remains modest about his success.
"I’ve been touring so long, I didn’t want people to be thinking, ‘Gosh, here comes Alan Jackson again,'" Jackson admits -- though that hardly seems to be his fans' sentiment.
"I have fans who have been coming to my shows for 25 years, I meet them and they’ll pull out a picture they took of me 25 years ago!” Jackson shares. “... Some people don’t like to talk about how many years they’ve been around — it makes them feel old. I’m proud of it and glad to do it.”
More information about Jackson's 2016 tour dates is available on his official website.
