Jason Isbell Wins Big at 2018 Americana Music Awards [PICTURES]
Jason Isbell received four nominations at the 2018 Americana Music Honors & Awards, and he took home three of them during the awards ceremony on Tuesday night (Sept. 12). Readers can see a full list of 2018 Americana Music Awards nominees and winners below.
In addition to the category winners, a number of Lifetime Achievement Awards winners were honored during the ceremony: Buddy Guy, k.d. lang, Irma Thomas, Olivia Records founders Judy Dlugacz and Cris Williamson, and Rosanne Cash all received special trophies in recognition of their musical influence.
The 2018 Americana Honors & Awards ceremony featured performances from Rosanne Cash, Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats, Lilly Hiatt and more. The Milk Carton Kids assumed hosting duties this year, and the evening's house band was led by Buddy Miller.
The Americana Honors & Awards ceremony is part of the 2018 Americana Festival and Conference, which is taking place on Sept.11-16. Although the ceremony won't be broadcast live on television, it will be simulcast on SiriusXM's Outlaw Country station and on the Nashville-area stations WRLT 1001. FM, WSM 650 AM and WMOT 89.5 FM. Additionally, the Americana Music Association is partnering with PBS' Austin City Limits as well as with CMT to share highlights from the event; the CMT broadcast will air on Nov. 28 at 9PM ET, while the ACL broadcast will air in February of 2019.
