Jake Owen Sings in His Kitchen for St. Jude’s

Although Jake Owen has wrapped his opening duties on Keith Urban's Get Closer world tour, the 'Alone With You' singer is still performing for fans -- in a very unlikely place. Jake has joined forces with StageIt to provide online concerts from the comfort of his own kitchen, with all proceeds going to St. Jude Children's Hospital.

"The concerts are very spur of the moment," Jake says of his innovative way to express his goodwill toward the non-profit children's hospital. "There aren't any mics or cords, just a few guitars and my MAC that has an eyesight camera on it. I tweet about it ahead of time to let everyone know we're doing it. The other night we raised $3,000 for St. Jude in just 35 minutes. I would have been playing music with my friends in my kitchen anyway, so it's a pretty cool way to give back."

Future impromptu StageIt performances will have to work around the singer's tour schedule, with Jake returning to the road in 2012 for a string of shows in promotion of his latest album, 'Barefoot Blue Jean Night,' which has already produced the No. 1 title track. 'Alone With You' is Jake's current chart-climber, which is closing in on the Top 25.
