Billy Ray Cyrus -- singer, actor and father to Miley Cyrus -- is adding TV host to his resume. The former 'Doc' and 'Hannah Montana' star's latest turn on the small screen will be as host of an uplifting new series on the TLC network, called 'Homecoming.' The documentary series will be centered around videos of military men and women reuniting with their loved ones upon returning home from active duty.

"'Homecoming' extends TLC's focus on authentic and relatable life experiences," says TLC President and General Manager Ellen O'Neil. "We look forward to honoring our service men and women, and celebrating in the unmatched moment when they are reunited with their families."

The network has ordered three one-hour episodes thus far, each including a series of surprise homecomings focusing on the emotional moments of the featured family's individual reunion.

Billy Ray, who recently announced his impending divorce from Tish Cyrus, his wife of 17 years, is also currently working on a reality series for the Syfy network with son, Trace, called 'UFO: Unbelievably Freakin' Obvious.' He's also promoting his grunge-rock band, Brother Clyde, as well as working on an album of patriotic tunes to be released later this year.

This week Billy Ray will be found on the black carpet at the CMA Awards, fulfilling his role as celebrity campaign ambassador for DRIVE4COPD.

'Homecoming' is set to air in the spring of 2011.
