Brother/sister bluegrass duo, the Roys are set to host 'A New Country Christmas,' this Saturday (Dec. 24) and Sunday (Christmas Day). The two-hour syndicated radio special will feature new holiday tunes from Brad Paisley, Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood, Chris Young, Joey + Rory and more. Lee and Elaine Roy will also contribute their uniquely-styled, acoustic version of 'Jingle Bells' to the program, which will broadcast nationwide and overseas and will also stream online here. Listeners can also check the site to find out where the show will air in their area.

The Massachusetts natives, who were raised in New Brunswick, Canada, and have been hailed for their skillful blend of roots music and bluegrass, will move from radio to TV in the new year, having recently signed a production deal with ValCom Studios for a new, weekly music-driven variety series. The pair will appear and perform on the 30-minute show titled 'Roots and Music With the Roys.' The inaugural 13 episodes of the series will be taped in Nashville early next year.

The show has already been picked up by over 120 stations nationwide, with a potential viewership of 40 million via cable and broadcast networks.

"Our mission has been to spread the joy of bluegrass, and this show will certainly help us bring this iconic American musical style to many new listeners," says Lee. The new show, which Elaine calls "an incredible opportunity," will be presented in true "variety" format, with each show including a performance by the duo, along with humanitarian features, a festival event highlight segment, plus a guest musical artist, interview, and a closing jam session.

The Roys will perform their first-ever shows in Australia beginning Jan. 25, 2012 in Tamworth. For more on the duo, visit their official website.
