Little Big Town might have recently released a single entitled 'Day Drinking,' but it sounds like their holidays will be relatively booze-free. The quartet, made up of Karen Fairchild, Kimberly Schlapman, Phillip Sweet and Jimi Westbrook, say their favorite holiday traditions involve plenty of time with family and loved ones.

“One of our favorite Christmas tradition is gathering around the television to watch holiday movies,” Fairchild tells GAC about how she and her husband Westbrook celebrate. “And I know for Kimberly, it starts with 'It’s a Wonderful Life.' Ours is holiday movies and records -- like, certain records have to be played in [a certain] order for Jimi.”

Schlapman says her favorite traditions are the ones that have occurred throughout her entire life.

“We would go over to my grandmother’s house and have Christmas over there, and everybody would come home to Mama and Daddy’s house,” she recalls. “We’d sit down, and Mama hands out everybody a gift, and we act like we don’t what it is, but we do ’cause it’s always Christmas pajamas. Everybody opens their Christmas pajamas and goes and puts ‘em on, and we come back to the living room, and we sit around Daddy, and he reads 'The Christmas Story.'”

Sweet's celebrations, meanwhile, revolve around his six-year-old daughter, Penelopi.

“The little tree in the countdown to Christmas? We put little treats in each little doorway. Penelopi opens the countdown to Christmas," he explains. "She gets a new little treat every day leading up to Christmas.”

Little Big Town have plenty to celebrate this year. In addition to becoming members of the Grand Ole Opry, they also took home the CMA Award for Vocal Group of the Year, for the third year in a row.

LBT helped usher in the holiday season earlier this year with a performance of 'Silent Night' at the 2014 CMA Country Christmas, along with Michael W. Smith. The song is from Smith's new Christmas record, 'The Spirit of Christmas.'

“There’s nobody who sings like them,” Smith says of the group, “and I get to sing with them, which is pretty amazing and great.”
