Even though Kenny Chesney is known for hits such as "She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy," the country superstar is also known for his love of the surf, sand and sun -- and we've got the pictures to prove it.

"I've always had an island soul to me. I grew up in Knoxville, [Tenn.,] in the foothills of the Smoky Mountains, but somewhere in my family tree there must've been someone who was a beach bum at heart," Chesney says of his love for all things seaside. "I've always felt a certain sense of peace and freedom on the boat that I don't get on the tour bus. On the road, there's always something to do and some place to be. My life is full of expectations. But on the boat, I can take a deep breath and be myself."

Chesney's love for the beach has been evident throughout his stunning career in country music: He sings two of our favorite country beach songs ("When the Sun Goes Down" and "No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problems"), and in 2014, he celebrated the wintry holidays with "Christmas in Blue Chair Bay," a song that has lyrics including "We got some mistletoe, hung from the bow of the boat / Stockings are filled with sunshine rays."

If you're not yet convinced, Chesney hosted his only solo live performance of 2014, the Flora-Bama Jama, on the beach, and his "Wild Child" video was shot in Hawaii. Plus, while many country stars own trucks, tractors and lots of land in the country, Chesney owns a 60-foot yacht and takes up residence in the Virgin Islands. His 2018 album Songs for the Saints was a show of support to the area following the hurricanes the devastated the islands in late 2017; Chesney helped in rescue and rebuilding efforts following the storms, too.

Because Chesney is completely at home on the beach, and to help get you psyched for the upcoming summer season, we've gathered photos of his best beach moments.
