Justin Moore Releases ‘Home Sweet Home’ Video (Watch)

Justin Moore has released a new video for his version of the Motley Crue classic, 'Home Sweet Home,' in advance of the upcoming tribute album, ‘Nashville Outlaws: A Tribute to Motley Crue.’

Shane Drake directed the video, which covers an entire day of Moore's life on the road.

“We were actually able to take the day and split it up into about six setups to make it feel as though Justin was on the road," he explains. "From on his tour bus to in a green room to a different venue to a recording studio to a sound check stage. And in all of this, we get this idea that the song ‘Home Sweet Home’ is a song that holds dear to him as a family guy and as a man who is on the road a lot. He can resonate with the lyrics and understand what is happening.”

Drake adds that his favorite part might be the surprise ending, which pairs the reigning ACM New Artist of the Year with the iconic rock and roll band.

"He's actually doing some of these performances in front of televisions where the old videos are playing, the version from the '80s and the version from the '90s," Drake says. "You get the idea that maybe we're just going to connect Motley Crue via these videos, but by the end, you actually see the dudes show up, walking down Broadway into our shot, in our video, going to our bar to listen to our Justin Moore rock out. Not only that, [lead singer] Vince Neil gets up and rocks out the last chorus with him."

Moore admits he had some reservations about how his new version would go over with the classic rock guys, but those fears were quickly laid to rest.

“It has been a blast becoming friends with the Motley guys and learning how much they appreciate the history of country music,” Moore says. “They are truly one of the most disruptive bands of their generation and I am honored to be able to cover one of my favorite Crue songs of all time, ’Home Sweet Home’. It has been pretty unreal singing with Vince Neil.”

‘Nashville Outlaws: A Tribute to Motley Crue' includes performances by Rascal Flatts, Florida Georgia Line, Brantley Gilbert and Cassadee Pope. The album will be released on Aug. 19. See the complete track listing here, and pre-order the record here.
