Justin Moore was the people's choice at the 2014 ACM Awards, winning the fan-voted New Artist of the Year award over fellow newcomers Brett Eldredge and Kip Moore.

Moore appeared overwhelmed after Florida Georgia Line, fresh off their own win for Vocal Duo of the Year, called his name as the winner.

After the diminutive singer joked that he was glad there wasn't a height requirement for the award, he thanked his fans and country radio, saying, "Thank you for giving me a voice and taking a chance on a hillbilly from Arkansas."

At 30, Moore is older than many new artists, and his nomination was not without controversy, since he released his first single several years ago. But Moore received nothing but good vibes from those in attendance, especially when he got choked up as he closed his speech by thanking his wife and daughters.
