Carrie Underwood is used to landing at the top of the music charts, but apparently she can dominate the TV ratings as well.

The singer starred in the live production of 'The Sound of Music Live!' on Thursday, Dec. 5. The three-hour broadcast was watched by 18.5 million viewers, making it the No. 1 show for the evening.

In addition, the production, which also starred 'True Blood' actor Stephen Moyer, earned the highest rating for 18-49, non-sports Thursday ratings average since the finale of 'ER,' which aired in 2009. The musical also earned NBC the most viewers since 2004's season finale of 'Frasier.'

'The Sound of Music Live!' also came in at No. 1 in prime time for all 56 Nielsen-metered markets, and was the first show since May of 2012 to pass the hit comedy, 'The Big Bang Theory' in P2+ ratings (which measures total viewers).

Underwood, who admitted to being nervous about the show before the cameras started rolling, she says she was pleased by the final outcome.

"Glory to God tonight...I couldn't be more proud," she said. "What a tough thing to pull off and we did it! I am so blessed!!!"
