Carrie Underwood made her live musical debut Thursday night in NBC's 'The Sound of Music Live!,' a three-hour live television adaptation of the beloved musical. Now you can re-live the best performances from the show.

Underwood rose to the occasion, handling the difficult task of making the music her own, but she didn't do it alone. The cast of von Trapp children joined her for several fun numbers that were among the evening's best, as did 'True Blood' star Stephen Moyer, who played Captain von Trapp, and five-time Tony winner Audra McDonald (best known to television viewers for her starring role on ‘Private Practice’), who played the Mother Abbess.

One of the highlights was almost the first thing on the screen, when Underwood performed the iconic title song. She pulled it off perfectly in what could otherwise have been a disaster.

It's easy to forget just how much iconic music comes from this story. Here, Underwood's Maria sings 'My Favorite Things' with McDonald's Mother Abbess in one of the night's biggest show-stoppers.

McDonald also turned in one of the best solo performances of the night with her rendition of 'Climb Ev'ry Mountain,' as her character admonished Underwood's Maria that she must return and face her love for Captain von Trapp.

Moyer also got a turn in the spotlight on Thursday night, leading Underwood and the cast of children through a performance of 'Edelweiss' that also served as the family's farewell to their homeland, which they were forced to flee as the Nazis encroached.

One of the very best scenes in the musical was Underwood teaching the von Trapp children to sing with 'Do-Re-Mi.' Underwood began simply on the acoustic guitar, but the number built until it culminated with all of them skipping merrily throughout the house.
