'9 to 5: The Musical' received four Tony Award nominations on Tuesday. The Broadway show, based on the hit 1980 movie, features music and lyrics written by Dolly Parton, who receives a nod for Best Original Score. Allison Janney (pictured left) is nominated for Best Performance by a Leading Actress in a Musical. She plays the role of Violet Newstead in the play -- the role originated by Lily Tomlin in the movie. Marc Kudisch, who plays Dabney Coleman's character, the sexist Mr. Hart, receives a nod for Best Performance by a Leading Actor. A Best Choreography nomination goes to Andy Blankenbuehler for the fancy footwork in '9 to 5.'

"I'm happy to see that people are accepting it," Dolly tells The Boot of her elation with the musical's success. "We've got a wonderful cast, and I'm just proud to be a part of the whole ensemble."

Dolly has already received the L.A. Drama Critics Circle's Musical Score Award for her '9 to 5' songwriting. The musical also received a whopping 15 Drama Desk Award nominations, the most ever for any show in any one year.

'9 to 5: The Musical' is playing on Broadway through at least January 2010. Click here for tickets.
