Townsquare Media, owner of The Boot, has announced the acquisition of WE Fest, the world's largest country music and camping festival, which is set to feature Blake Shelton, Miranda Lambert, Dierks Bentley and others this summer in 2015.

The annual festival, based in Detroit Lakes, Minn., was founded in 1983 and takes place at Soo Pass Ranch, a lakefront property with more than 9,000 campsites for fans. Attendees represent 48 states, and the festival, which the Country Music Association has nominated twice for Best Special Event, saw approximately 45,000 fans each day in 2014.

“We are very excited about the purchase of WE Fest,” says Dhruv Prasad, executive vice president of live events for Townsquare Media. “The addition of WE Fest to our portfolio of music festivals positions Townsquare Media as one of the leading country music festival owners in the United States. We look forward to continuing to grow the audience at WE Fest, along with the operating leadership team of the festival.”

Rand Levy, owner of WE Fest, adds, “I am happy to deliver WE Fest to a company that shares my vision and which will continue to operate WE Fest in concert with its leading event, broadcast radio and digital assets focused on country music. It is the perfect way for this event to continue to thrive, and I am excited about WE Fest’s future.”

Townsquare Media is the producer and promoter of 10 large-scale country music events, collectively reaching almost 350,000 attendees. These events include Country Jam in Grand Junction, Colo., Taste of Country Music Festival at Hunter Mountain, N.Y., Headwaters Country Jam in Three Forks, Mont., WYRK’s Taste of Country in Buffalo, N.Y., and WGNA’s CountryFest in Albany, N.Y.

In addition, Townsquare owns and publishes Taste of Country and The Boot, the leading country music digital destinations based on web traffic. It's also the owner and operator of more than 46 market-leading country music radio stations and companion websites across the U.S.

Past artists at WE Fest have included Jason Aldean, Brad Paisley, Zac Brown Band, Florida Georgia Line, Kenny Chesney, Carrie Underwood and Eric Church. Fans can find further information on the 2015 event, which is set to take place Aug. 6-8, 2015, on WE Fest's website.
