Chris Ferrell, the man who allegedly shot and killed country singer Wayne Mills is going to trial in March.

Mills' wife Carol shared an update on the trial, which is set to begin on March 2, via Facebook. Jury selection will begin on that date, and the trial itself will follow.

"We have been informed that the courtroom will be full of potential jurors, so they will limit the number of people allowed in the courtroom that day," Carol Mills writes. "To avoid disappointment, I would suggest waiting until Tuesday, March 3, if you would like to attend."

Ferrell has been charged with second-degree murder after allegedly shooting and killing Mills in the Pit and Barrel, a Nashville bar owned by Ferrell, on Nov. 23, 2013. There were no witnesses to the incident, but initial reports revealed that Ferrell shot Mills after the pair began arguing over Mills' smoking in the non-smoking section of the bar. Ferrell was the one who originally called 911 after shots were fired. He claims that Mills tried to rob and kill him, forcing him to shoot in self defense.

Mills' autopsy revealed that he died from a single gunshot to the back of his head, with no evidence that the gun was discharged at close range. The report also suggests that Mills and Ferrell struggled before the shooting took place: Mills had two broken ribs; abrasions on his forehead, temple and scalp; and contusions on his chest, arms, forearms, left thigh and right knee.

Ferrell surrendered himself to police immediately after indictment on Dec. 6, 2013, and was released after posting a severely lowered bond. His trial was set for Nov. 17, 2014, but was pushed back.

"I would like to ask, because I know how difficult it is being in the courtroom with Wayne’s murderer, that we all remember we are representing Wayne," Carol Mills continues on Facebook. "It will be hard to keep emotions in check, but I would like the Mills side of the courtroom to respect the judge and the process. Just a friendly reminder (for myself as well).

"Lastly, I just want to thank EVERYONE for their continued support, thoughts and prayers. Jack and I cannot tell you how much we FEEL the love and concern!!" she adds. "We miss Wayne terribly, but you all have shown us glimpses of Wayne through your kindness. We can’t thank you enough for that."
