Tyler Childers Brings Newly-Released ‘Country Squire’ Album to the Stage in NYC [PICTURES]
Tyler Childers celebrated the Aug. 2 release of his highly anticipated sophomore offering, Country Squire, with a packed-out performance at Webster Hall in New York, N.Y. on Monday (Aug. 5). Flip through the gallery above to see photos of the singer's set!
In addition to playing for a jam-packed room, Childers also live-streamed the show via nugs.tv as well as his official website, inviting fans from all corners of the world to join him as he celebrated the new material. The concert marked the first of a busy couple of days for the Americana and country singer; the day after the release show, on Tuesday (Aug. 6), he is set to appear on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, for what will be his broadcast television debut.
The release of Country Squire once again cemented Childers as one of country music's most vivid storytellers, displaying an impressive array of story songs over the course of the project. During his N.Y.C. show, Childers' focus wasn't on flashy production or onstage acrobatics: He simply stood in front of the microphone, focusing on his music's compelling lyrical style and imagery.
Childers first announced the new project in May of 2019, simultaneously sharing the first look into his new project, a song called "House Fire." Despite that track's turn towards more trippy sonic experimentation, the project as a whole stays true to the Appalachian, string-focused sound that Childers mastered with his first album, Purgatory.
The singer's upcoming Country Squire Run Tour will begin in October. For full ticketing information, visit Childers' website.
