Trisha Yearwood's new cookbook, 'Georgia Cooking in an Oklahoma Kitchen,' has a lot of great recipes for Thanksgiving. And perhaps the simplest is her 'no-baste turkey.' But at her first Thanksgiving with husband Garth Brooks, the country songstress had to prove ahead of time that a turkey without basting actually tastes good.

"Everybody questions it, because it's so easy," says Yearwood.

So, she prepared a "stunt turkey" for her new family, and subsequently got to say, 'I told you so!' The secret, she explains, is never opening the oven door while the turkey is baking.

Yearwood shares not only her recipes but also her intimate childhood memories in the new cookbook. She explains that cooking is a family tradition she hopes to pass on.

"From my daddy, I learned about having fun in the kitchen and the satisfaction that comes from seeing the pleasure others take in a meal you've prepared."
