Tracy Lawrence has been in the country music game since the early 1990s, watching trends come and go and steadily releasing new music himself. The singer-songwriter and radio DJ has another new album coming this summer, he shared with The Boot on the red carpet at the 2019 ACM Awards.

According to Lawrence, his new album will be titled Made in America. It's coming this summer and will feature 12 songs, eight of which he wrote himself.

"This album is very country. [There's a] little rock, little blues-rock stuff at the end of it, but there's some amazing tracks on this album," Lawrence shares. "I think it's one of the best albums that I have made in a long time."

Lawrence tells The Boot that he's predicting a turn toward more traditional sounds "over the next few years." He admits that he's hoping that'll lead to a "soften[ing] up" of production styles, where vocals aren't turned up so loud as compared to the rest of the music.

Lawrence has adapted to and weathered plenty of industry changes throughout his decades in country music, but he admits that one of the newer trends he's just not that great at is social media. He's realized his weakness, though, and lets a professional handle his accounts, in part because of the mean-spirited comments that overtake the replies and comments sections.

"There are a lot of trolls out there that just want to start fights," he says, "and I don't have the patience for it. I'm not real good at not engaging, which is probably not in my best interest."

Made in America, according to Lawrence, will be released on Aug. 16, though details have yet to be officially announced. More information about Lawrence and his upcoming shows can be found on his official website.
