Tracy Lawrence is releasing his first album in five years on Tuesday (Aug. 20), and he's giving readers of The Boot a chance to hear his new music early via this exclusive album stream.

'Headlights, Taillights and Radios' is a turn in a new creative direction for Lawrence.

“When recording the new album, it was a very different process than I had ever done before,” he says. “We ended up recording the album in two parts; that’s just how it worked out. I started recording in the direction to make a more traditional county record. But as time progressed, I needed to explore and challenge myself musically. I wanted to go deeper and try a more edgy and progressive sound that reflected where I was going next."

He adds, "The combination really worked well for me and I think it will appeal to many different types of county music fans.”

Lawrence has enjoyed a 20-year career in country music, scoring a string of hits including 'Time Marches On,' 'Find Out Who Your Friends Are,' 'Alibis' and 'Paint Me a Birmingham.' He has placed 22 songs in the Top 10 in Billboard's country charts, with 18 of them reaching No. 1. He has sold over 13 million albums.

The new collection celebrates Lawrence's entire career in its title; headlights looking toward the future, taillights representing the past, and radios acknowledging the success that Lawrence has had at country radio. The album's first single, 'Stop Drop and Roll,' gave fans a taste of his new direction. A second single, 'Footprints on the Moon,' has just been released.

'Headlights, Taillights and Radios' is available for pre-order here.
