Tracy Byrd + Wife OK, Recovering After Car Accident

Tracy Byrd and his wife Michelle are recovering at home after a car accident on Tuesday (July 17) that totaled their Ford Excursion.

According to Corpus Christi, Texas, TV station KIII, the incident, which also involved a 64-year-old woman in a Toyota, took place on Highway 69, roughly 15 miles north of Beaumont, in the early afternoon.

Following the accident, Michelle underwent two operations on her left foot but called herself "blessed" later that evening in a post on Facebook. While all three people involved in the accident were taken to the hospital, no serious injuries have been reported.

A representative for the Department of Public Safety told the station that the Byrds were driving northbound on Highway 69 when the woman in the Toyota, who was headed southbound, turned left onto Highway 327, causing the collision. She was cited for failure to yield the right of way.
