Trace Adkins is hard-line when it comes to right and wrong. He has little sympathy for those who have set this country on an economic roller coaster ride. When asked recently what he would do to right our troubled economy, Adkins answered without hesitation, "I'd start by putting people in jail."

The people he's referring to are folks like Bernard Madoff, who was recently busted for running one of the largest financial schemes in history. And once Adkins has punished the people he thinks are at least partly to blame for the economic downturn, he says, "I would hope that would set the precedent that we're gonna do things more honestly and above board these days. Once people realize that , then we might not have to do anything except just let the market correct itself and the economy correct itself."

The singer, who shares many of his philosophies in his book, 'A Personal Stand: Observations and Opinions from a Freethinking Roughneck,' goes on to say that he thinks people may be trying to fix an economy that can fix itself in time. "It's really aggravating me right now that everybody's jumping through their ass saying you have to do something to fix the economy now. You may not have to do anything. We might just have to let this thing play itself out. We've been living in this market fantasy world in the past decade or so, but it wasn't real and it wasn't sustainable. Now we may just have to give it time to make a natural correction in order to let it correct itself."
