To promote his new album, 'Proud to Be Here,' Trace Adkins is making the media rounds, which included a stop on the set of comedian Chelsea Handler's hit talk show, 'Chelsea Lately,' Thursday night. The witty TV host met her match in the deep-voiced country star, who was unfazed by her off-the-wall banter. Take a peek at a few of the episode's highlights below, as the two joke back and forth about the singer's American Country Awards hosting duties, his new duet with Blake Shelton, and the two fears that Trace and Chelsea share: snakes and Miranda Lambert!

On Trace's ACA hosting gig:

Chelsea: So you're hosting awards shows now.

Trace: No, just one.

Chelsea: You hosted it twice.

Trace: No, I hosted it once. This year will be twice. Have you read about this interview yet? You just winging it today?

On Trace's duet with Blake, 'If I Was a Woman':

Chelsea: I know you wrote a song on this album with Blake Shelton, speaking of drinkers, because I know he really likes to throw them back ... There are some really amazing lyrics in this song that he wrote. It says, "If I was a woman, no, if I was a woman, if I was a woman, I'd love a man like me."

Trace: That's poetry.

Chelsea: You guys are amazing together. How was his wedding [to Miranda Lambert], by the way?

Trace: I was surprised you weren't there. I know how you feel about Blake. When the "forever hold your peace" line went by, I just kind of expected to see you jump up and yell something, but you weren't there.

Chelsea: Well I can't make my move because I'm scared of that Miranda girl.

Trace: Me too.

Chelsea: She seems like she's rough and tumble.

Trace: Blake's scared of her too. He's terrified of her, actually.

On their mutual fear of snakes:

Trace: I was in this really bad movie a few years ago ...

Chelsea: Which one, the one with Matthew McConaughey?

Trace: That one was good ...

Chelsea: That was 'The Lincoln Lawyer,' that was good. That was a part of the interview I didn't read. I'm sorry. What was the bad movie?

Trace: I don't remember. I was playing this bad guy and I was supposed to reach in this box and it had a bunch of snakes in it, and there was a gun in the box because I was like the devil or something, so I was supposed to get the gun. So, this Humane Society chick was standing there watching me, and I was like, "What are you doing?" She said, "I gotta make sure you don't hurt the snakes," and I said, "When I reach in this box to get that gun, if one of those snakes ... I don't know what you're going to be able to do to stop me, b----, but I'm going to kill everyone of those snakes!"
