Trace Adkins returns to 'Celebrity Apprentice' this weekend to offer his assistance to the contestants and report back to host and chairman of the board, Donald Trump.

Trace, the runner-up to winner Piers Morgan on the reality series' first season in 2008, will take his role as boardroom advisor seriously, as he oversees both celebrity teams as they create new images for fellow country artists Luke Bryan and Emily West. A few of the remaining celebrities on tap to take advice from Trace include Cyndi Lauper, Bret Michaels, Sharon Osbourne and Chef Curtis Stone.

Trace was a fan-favorite on the first season of the show and came away with a second place finish, but it wasn't easy. "It was an exercise in restraint, the likes of which I've never experienced in my adult life," he says. "I was there representing a charity and specifically my daughter who is cursed with severe food allergies. I just had to keep reminding myself of that." Trace has raised more than a half-million dollars for The Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis Network.

The episode of 'Celebrity Apprentice' featuring Trace, Luke and Emily will air on Sunday (April 18) at 9:00 PM ET on NBC.

Trace is currently co-headlining the Shine All Night tour with Martina McBride, scheduled to light up Myrtle Beach, S.C. on April 23. The Louisiana native is also set to release his new single, 'This Ain't No Love Song,' on May 10, followed by his new album on his new label -- Show Dog-Universal Music -- in August.
