Taylor Swift and Kenny Chesney Country music continues to demonstrate its mass appeal by increasing album sales and dominating radio. Now, country artists have also proven they can sell out concert venues just as well as artists of other genres.

Taylor Swift and Kenny Chesney made the Top 10 list of 2009's highest-grossing tours, based on ticket sales. U2 came in at No.1, followed by Bruce Springsteen, Phish, Taylor and Britney Spears. Kenny landed at No.9, beating out Metallica, who rounded out the list.

By all appearances, Taylor, who is Billboard's Artist of the Year is already in the running for 2010, after recently announcing she's extending her 'Fearless' tour into next year. Meanwhile, Kenny's slot will be available for another artist, while he enjoys an extended time off from the road.
