Fred Breedon/Nashville Rising

Tim McGraw has piled up more accolades than most artists dream of since first hitting the Nashville scene in 1990. His total album sales are in excess of 40 million units, with 11 consecutive albums debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard charts and a whopping 30 No. 1 singles.

It's no surprise, then, that the Louisiana native has been honored with Nielsen BDS's Most Played Artist of the Decade Award ... for all genres!

According to Music Row magazine, Nielsen Music's Jon Peck recently presented Tim with a plaque commemorating 7,965,000 radio spins, the most airplay of any artist from January 1, 2000 to December 31, 2009.

"We congratulate Tim McGraw on being the most played artist of the decade on radio," said Eric Weinberg, president of Nielsen Entertainment . "His career and songs have resonated not only with his fans, but has become part of the fabric of America, evidenced by his unprecedented airplay."

Tim is currently on his 'Southern Voice' tour. To check out his remaining cities and dates, click here. His new movie, 'Country Strong, co-starring Gwyneth Paltrow, hits theaters in December.
