Tim McGraw might be one of the biggest music superstars of this generation, but he admits he is also a fan of other artists, especially when it comes to Bruce Springsteen.

“He’s a great guy," McGraw says (quote via Nashville.com). "He’s one of the coolest guys I’ve ever been around and proud to count him as a friend. Musically, he’s an American treasure. I think he’s one of those icons of music that rarely comes along that, you look back through history and there’s only a handful of ‘em and he’s certainly one of those guys that’s inspired so many people; musically, he’s inspired so many people; song writing-wise he’s inspired so many people; and as a person, you know, he’s just a solid guy.”

The Louisiana native paid tribute to the Boss last year, when Springsteen was honored as the 2013 MusiCares Person of the Year. The entire evening was captured in the upcoming tribute concert film,  ‘A MusiCares Tribute to Bruce Springsteen,’ which also includes performances by Faith Hill, Kenny Chesney, Elton John, Mavis Staples Natalie Maines and several others. The DVD will be released on March 25, and is available for purchase here.

Chances are good that McGraw and Springsteen will have another chance to run into each other next month. McGraw is scheduled to perform at the NCAA March Madness Music Festival in Dallas, Texas on Saturday, April 5th, with Springsteen taking the stage on April 6. The event, which is free, will also include performances by Jason Aldean, fun and the Killers. More information is available here.
