Tiffany Woys, ‘Hostage’ [Exclusive Premiere]
Country newcomer Tiffany Woys is premiering her breakup anthem "Hostage" exclusively for readers of The Boot. Press play above to listen to the hard-driving new tune.
As its title might indicate, "Hostage" explores the post breakup feeling of a toxic ex controlling your heart and, more importantly, your emotions. "You say you don't want more / But I'm at your door, and I don't wanna fight this war," Woys sings. "Don't wrap up my love, baby / Let me go / You're holding my heart hostage / Let me go."
"You want so badly to release yourself, but your heart, for whatever reason, won’t let you. It’s about breaking free from the feelings keeping you from moving on," Woys tells The Boot about the song, which was written by Ben Caver, Sara Haze and Sam Ellis. "Relationships can be a constant push and pull, and it’s not always easy leaving, especially when your heart doesn’t want to."
Born and raised in California, Woys takes inspiration from powerhouse vocalists including Carrie Underwood, Faith Hill and Celine Dion. She moved to Nashville from the Sunshine State a few years ago and released a self-titled EP, featuring songwriting from major Nashville tunesmiths such as Shane McAnally and Justin Halpin, back in February. "Hostage" is Woys' first new song since that EP's release.
Fans can keep up with Woys via her official website. Her Tiffany Woys EP is available on Spotify, Apple Music and more.
