Garth Brooks is the latest entertainer who has signed on to be a part of the upcoming TV concert special, "Teachers Rock." The one-hour telecast, which will also include performances by Carrie Underwood, Dierks Bentley, Josh Groban and Fun, will honor American educators.

In addition to the musical performances, several well-known entertainers, including Meryl Streep, Morgan Freeman, Jennifer Garner, Foo Fighters' Dave Grohl and Miranda Cosgrove, will share their personal recollections of teachers who impacted their lives. In addition, clips from the upcoming film, "Won't Back Down," about the tireless efforts of two mothers to change their children's run-down inner-city school, will also be shown.

Garth, who recently added more dates to his ongoing gig at the Encore Theater at Wynn Las Vegas, hints that there may be a lot more live performances in his future. But he has not backed down on his promise to put touring on hold until his youngest daughter goes to college. "It's always been about the babies," he explained last month. "Our youngest is a junior in high school now. Our oldest, we just celebrated her 20th. If God lets us do it and everything goes well, I would love to tour again."

"Teachers Rock" will take place Aug. 14 at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles, and air Aug. 18 on CBS at 8:00 PM ET. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased here. Proceeds from the concert will benefit DonorsChoose.org, Feeding America and Teach for America.
