Watch Taylor Swift and Sugarland Sing ‘Babe’ Together Live in Dallas
Sugarland joined Taylor Swift on the final night of her Reputation Tour (Oct. 6), surprising the crowd gathered to see the country-turned-pop superstar with a performance of their song "Babe." Readers can press play above to watch a snippet of the performance.
Swift co-wrote "Babe" with Train's Pat Monahan, and she adds background vocals in the song's chorus and bridge. Sugarland's Jennifer Nettles and Kristian Bush shared before they debuted the song that Swift was the one who approached them about recording the song when she learned that they were reuniting.
"[S]he was excited we were getting back together and reached out, and said, 'Hey, I have a song,'" Nettles says. "And that is a short list, ladies and gentleman, of people to whom she has said, 'Hey, I have a song. Wanna sing it?' So we said yes."
"Babe" appears on Sugarland's newest album, Bigger, which came out in June. They spent their summer on the road, on their Still the Same Tour, touring in support of the project.
Swift's North American Reputation Tour dates concluded with a two-night stand in Dallas. Her Friday night (Oct. 5) special guest was Maren Morris, with whom she performed Morris' song "The Middle." Swift is next due to head to Australia.
