Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood Feud? Not True, Says the ‘Blown Away’ Singer

Prior to the Grammy Awards, rumors were swirling about a so-called "feud" between Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood. Us Weekly reported that Grammy organizers had been instructed to keep the pair separate because "they hate each other." However, a show rep told the magazine that no such requests had been made. Well, CBS reporter Gayle King asked the "Blown Away" singer point-blank if there was any truth behind the reported riff.

"No! Not that I know of," said Carrie, before explaining how rumors like that get started. "Every magazine, newspaper or gossip TV shows, they can just get away with it by saying a 'source says' or 'a friend said' or 'an insider said.' I've read the most ridiculous things about myself when people do that."

To followup, Carrie was then asked her favorite Taylor Swift song. "I really like 'I Knew You Were Trouble,' which is one of her newer songs," she answered. "It sounded a lot different for her. I liked the branching out. She's trying some different sounds."

The feud speculation started last November after the CMA Awards, during which Carrie and her co-host, Brad Paisley, poked fun at Taylor's breakup with 18-year-old Conor Kennedy. Viewers at home didn't see the "22" singer's reaction to the joke. "They don't pan to you if you're not laughing," Taylor explained to the New York Times.

As for the Grammys, the only person the young superstar seemed to have a problem with was her British ex-boyfriend, Harry Styles of One Direction. During her opening performance of "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together," the songstress used a British accent for the quote in the line, "He calls me up and he's like, 'I still love you.'"
