Sugarland Leads CMT Award Nominations

CMT has announced its first round of finalists for the 2009 CMT Music Awards. Sugarland leads the pack with six nominations, including Video of the Year for 'All I Want to Do.' The duo's videos for 'Already Gone,' 'Love,' and 'Life in a Northern Town' were also nominated in various categories.

Brad Paisley and Taylor Swift follow Sugarland with four nods apiece. Keith Urban, Rascal Flatts, Lady Antebellum and Toby Keith each have three. The most recognized video directors in this round of nominations are Shaun Silva and Deaton Flanigan, who also have three nods each. (See a full list of nominees after the jump.)

The CMT Awards are determined by you -- the fans, with online voting beginning today and running through May 11 at CMT.com. On May 19, CMT will announce the four finalists in each category, excluding Video of the Year. Fans can then go back to CMT.com through June 15 to vote in the final rounds. The final nominees for Video of the Year will be announced at the beginning of the June 17 live CMT Awards broadcast, and fans will be encouraged to cast their votes online or via text message during the show.
