It's a boy! Singer/songwriters Sonya Isaacs and Jimmy Yeary are proud to announce the birth of their first child, Ayden James Yeary, born on Monday, July 26, and weighing a healthy 9 lbs, 5 oz.

"One of my greatest desires in life has been to be a mommy," Sonya said earlier this year when she announced her pregnancy. "I've loved being an aunt, and being so close to my nieces and nephews has given me a taste of what it's like to love and raise a child. We are so excited and can't even begin to express our thankfulness to the Lord for this great big little blessing!"

Mom, Dad and baby are said to be happy and resting comfortably.

In addition to her solo work as both a recording artist and songwriter, Sonya is a member of the legendary bluegrass/gospel group, The Isaacs, along with her mom, sister, brother and brother-in-law. Hubby Jimmy is a famed Nashville songwriter who has written songs recorded by Randy Travis, Joe Diffie, Craig Morgan, John Michael Montgomery and several other big names in the business.

Jimmy and Sonya met in 2009 and were married after just a few months of dating. Their sweet, rapid romance was the inspiration behind Rascal Flatts' hit, 'Why Wait,' which Jimmy co-wrote with Tom Shapiro and Neil Thrasher. [Watch the 'Why Wait' video below.]

"Sonya and I were together for three months when we decided to get married," Jimmy tells The Boot. "The only reason we decided to wait for three months was because we didn't want people thinking we were completely crazy for doing it after one or two months! [laughs] We knew almost immediately that that was going to happen."
