From Skid Row to Music Row? That's the journey that's underway for Johnny Solinger, frontman of notorious hard rock band Skid Row. Johnny, who proclaims himself a "redneck from the great state of Texas," is releasing 'Livin' Out a Country Song,' his sophomore country album.

"It might seem odd to have such drastic tastes in music," says the singer, who replaced Sebastian Bach as lead vocalist of Skid Row in 2000. "But it feels perfectly natural to me."

Johnny's self-titled debut country project was released in 2008, and featured the the single 'Too Well to Go to Work,' a Top 20 hit on the Texas Music Charts, and co-written by Chris Cagle.

"I'm so excited about these songs and this new record that I glow in the dark," says the singer. "The first one was never ever meant to be a one and done, throw it against the wall and see if it sticks kind of deal. I love making these records and completely flipping the switch from hard rock back to my country roots."

In the meantime, Skid Row has continued to travel the globe, which made pinning down a release date for the new album a difficult task. Listen to 'Livin' Out a Country Song' here. Click below to watch a hilarious episode of 'Cooking With Johnny' as he makes his "world famous" chicken enchiladas.
